Art Camp Kosjeric
The Street Art Galleries workshops (2011–2013) were ten‑day international community art projects held in the village of Kosjerić, Serbia. Each year, artists and students from several countries came together to collaborate with local residents in designing and creating site‑specific wall paintings throughout the village. The workshops aimed to strengthen community identity, activate public space, and foster dialogue between visiting artists and the people of Kosjerić.
During the ten days, the group worked intensively on multiple walls across the village. The collaborative nature of the workshop encouraged experimentation, cross‑cultural exchange, and hands‑on learning. Artists and students developed concepts together, solved practical challenges on site, and adapted their designs in response to community feedback.
The resulting murals formed a dispersed, open‑air gallery that celebrated Kosjerić’s identity and strengthened the relationship between contemporary street art and rural community life. The project demonstrated how participatory art practices can empower local voices, activate public space, and create lasting cultural impact.
